Black Basalt Gravel 1 1/4" Clean

Black Basalt Gravel 1 1/4" Clean crushed rock is jet-black in color. This "clean" type is screened to the 1 1/4" size. Smaller particles are washed out of the mix which creates an angular gravel that will settle into place, but resists heavy compaction or adding to muddy conditions. The 1 1/4" size is good for medium-duty applications and displacing water from saturated soils.
 
Recommended uses
As a base layer over bare soils when for medium duty applications
To displace water from muddy areas without adding more fine particles into the mix
Anywhere you need to stabilize a surface while maintaining or improving drainage
 
Consider this...
Think of clean gravel as having the ability to "absorb" the fine particles from the surface it's placed on. 1 1/4" clean is great for displacing water from muddy areas that are more than a couple inches deep.
