Black Basalt Gravel 3/4" Clean

Black Basalt Gravel - 3/4" Clean crushed rock is jet-black in color. This "clean" type is screened to size and smaller particles are washed out of the mix. What's left is an angular gravel that will settle into place, but resists heavy compaction due to the lack of fines.
 
Recommended uses
As a base layer over bare soils when for "light duty" applications
To displace water from muddy areas without adding more fine particles into the mix
Anywhere you need to stabilize a surface while maintaining or improving drainage
 
Consider this...
Think of clean gravel as having the ability to "absorb" the fine particles from the surface it's placed on. 3/4" clean is great for light-duty applications like displacing water from mud puddles, or the margins of parking strips where wheels have worn ruts that collect more water. Bigger clean types area available for stabilizing deeper areas of saturated soils. If you're putting a shed or deck down on concrete blocks or timbers laying "pads" with clean gravel can promote drainage at the point of ground contact.
