Dark Basalt Gravel 1 1/4" Minus

Dark Basalt Gravel 1 1/4" Minus is dark gray in color when wet (pictured) and contains some dark red and rust colored pieces. This gravel compacts very tightly thanks to the fine particles of basalt. The larger 1 1/4" size will breakdown slowly compared to smaller gravels, especially under heavier vehicles.
 
Recommended uses
As a top course for heavy duty driveways or paths
As a pothole or rut repair material for alleyways and unimproved parking strips
Anywhere you need a dark compacting rock that's a little more heavy duty than 3/4"
 
Consider this...
If you're making a pathway foundation with 2-4" dark basalt quarry spalls, this dark 1 1/4" minus gravel is a great top course. It will fill-in gaps to make for a nice smooth surface for medium-duty traffic on top of a solid foundation.
